ApacheCon Policies
All aspects of ApacheCon operation and activity are overseen by the
ApacheCon Planning Committee ("ApacheCon Management"). With regard to
ApacheCon operation and activity, except in matters
for which there is applicable provision in the local law of the land,
the authority of the ApacheCon Management is supreme and its decisions
final.
Eviction from Conferences
The ApacheCon management reserves the right to evict any
person or persons from the Conference for violation of the
canons of conduct or other inappropriate
behaviour. The management are the sole authority concerning
the definition of such behaviour. Evicted persons may or may
not receive a full or partial refund of any fees paid,
at the sole discretion of the management.
While participating in ApacheCon activities individuals:
- Must properly register and display appropriate credentials.
- Must abide by the policies and practices of ApacheCon.
- Must not engage in sales activity, including direct or indirect
solicitation, except in approved contexts, or conduct any other
activity contrary to the purposes
of ApacheCon. The term "sales activity" is defined as the proposal,
negotiation, or acceptance of terms and/or conditions associated with
the use, rental, lease, purchase, or return of information technology
strategies, architectures, products, or services.
- Must not distribute brochures, flyers, handouts, etc., or post
displays of any kind without approval of the ApacheCon Planning
Committee or designee(s).

approved contexts.

other than in the conduct of ApacheCon or Apache Software Foundation
business as determined by the ApacheCon Planning Committee and/or
the Apache Software Foundation Board of Directors.
- Must not use any ApacheCon or Apache Software Foundation membership
list or any part thereof except in the conduct of activities authorised
by the ApacheCon Planning Committee and/or the Apache Software Foundation
Board of Directors.
- Must refrain from engaging in any activity which would violate
the proprietary rights of their employers, ApacheCon, the Apache
Software Foundation, or any other person or organization.
- Must conduct themselves and their activities in a professional
manner marked by integrity and a spirit of fair play.
- Must not make illegal copies of copyrighted and/or licensed
software or other materials or use unauthorized copies on ApacheCon
computers.
- Must not engage in any exchange of information or other behavior
that violates the antitrust laws of the hosting country.
Attendees who violate these canons may be subject to
eviction from the conference
and/or forfeiture of any fees or other payment, monetary
or in kind, made or promised.
User Accounts
The following policies, requirements, and restrictions apply to
accounts created for the ApacheCon sites.
- Accounts are for individuals only. Generic or role
accounts (such as info or customer) are not
permitted.
- Each individual is solely responsible for the activity of its own
account, even if the account was created by proxy (see point "E").
- Valid names and email addresses are required.
- The email address is used to uniquely identify an account, and
therefore each account must have a unique email address associated
with it.
- Account creation by proxy, such as an administrative assistant
creating accounts for and registering multiple individuals,
is permitted provided all of these policies are obeyed.
Violation of any of these policies may result in an account being
summarily suspended, terminated, or deleted, and may involve the
forfeiture of registration or other charges, fees, or payments made
using or relating to it.
